Close Circuit Television is basically used for two applications:

    In observation the system is employed to view a large installation like a factory from some centralized location, and manager can view the working of the factory by just sitting on his table. Besides this convenience it has been found that the productivity of the factory installed with CCTV System has greatly enhanced due to the fact that the workers work more efficiently as they have a constant fear of being watched. Due to its enormous benefits industrial standardization organizations throughout the world have recognized its potential. ISO which is much responsible for the standardization in Pakistan have special credits for the factories installed with a proper CCTV System.

    On the security front the system not only provides the observer (who is usually located at a distance from the main activity) with a response time to call rescue parties like police etc. during a burglary, but its recording on VCR's and Time Lapse Recorders help users investigate a crime to catch the culprit. To implement wide spread use of CCTV System Pakistan Law now recognize video witness of criminal acts and in many cases it is held as absolute witness. It also helps to fulfil the security measures to protect busnesses against possible terrorist attacks and is now a must under the shops and security act 1999.
